I’m Not Sure What Interests Me

If you think you want to work in the healthcare field, and you are just not sure which area is the best match for you, we want to be able to help you.

First, think about the things you liked to do and the toys you liked to play with when you were young. Did you like to put things together and take them apart? If so, you might want to explore the Sterile Processing Technician Program at Jeremiah’s Hope Academy.

Did you like taking care of animals, or did you like to help your parents take care of your younger brothers and sisters, or cousins? Did you like to pretend you were a doctor or nurse? When you started to read and learn, were you interested in science and biology? If so, you may be interested in learning more about the direct care programs at Jeremiah’s Hope Academy. Phlebotomist, Patient Care Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant and Mental Health Technician would be programs for you to research.

Do you remember pretending that you were working in an office? Did you like to write and play with computer games? If that is what you enjoyed as a child, you will want to check out the Medical Office programs at Jeremiah’s Hope Academy. Electronic Health Records Specialist, Billing and Coding Specialist and Medical Administrative Assistant are programs that you will want to learn more about.

If you are still unsure which program might be best for you, call the Academy office, and ask to schedule an appointment with one of the instructors to talk with them about what might work best for you. Call 205-939-7233 for information about the Academy and its programs.

The mission of Jeremiah’s Hope Academy is to help people succeed in reaching their goals for career and employment. It is part of the commitment of St. Vincent’s Health System to serving our community.
